He translated his love of the outdoors and recreational pursuits into a career focused on helping others to develop life-long skills, learn about themselves experientially and promoting environmental awareness.

  • Craig Decker

    Currently Craig serves as the Associate Director for Campus Recreation at West Virginia University. Craig got his start in campus recreation as a student employee at Indiana University. After graduating from IU he went on to receive his Master of Science degree from the University of Florida. While he was attending UF he worked as a Graduate Assistant for Facility Operations with their RecSports Department. Through his next four professional positions he has over a decade of experience within the campus recreation field.

    Pam is a lifetime resident of Morgantown WV and has been employed with West Virginia University since February, 1988. She was a member of the Steering, Planning and Development Committee for the Student Recreation Center. She has a strong passion for the Student Recreation Center, the students she encounters on a day-to-day basis and the mission and vision for the continued success and service of Campus Recreation.

    Dave Weimer is a native of Morgantown and a proud graduate of the West Virginia University Business Management Program and Sports Management (CPASS) Graduate Program. He currently serves as the Membership Services Manager of the WVU Student Recreation Center. Dave has served the past thirteen years promoting fitness and wellness on campus working directly with faculty, staff, visitors, and students. He has been very involved with New Student Orientation each summer speaking with parents and students of each incoming class.

    Ben Orendorff was born and raised in Gettysburg, PA. He is the oldest of three, and has a loving wife Holly and two children; Leena and Quinn. Playing high school football and wrestling Ben’s love of sports as branched out to rugby, basketball, and any youth programs his kids are involved in. In addition to sports, Ben’s love for the outdoors brings happiness and adventure into his family’s life!

  • Sandra Peppel

    Sandra Peppel is a native of Minnesota and an alumnus of Minnesota State University Moorhead and West Virginia University. She has been employed by WVU since 1991, beginning as a graduate assistant in the School of Physical Education where she led the learning laboratories for WVU students and the Physical Activity programs for babies, toddlers and pre-school children in the aquatic environment under the supervision of renowned CPASS faculty member Dr. Linda Carson. Sandra has served as a WVU clinical faculty member in the College of Physical Activity and Sports Science having taught Water Safety Instruction, Outdoor Leisure Pursuits, History of Sport and managed numerous aquatic instructional / certification programs through Lifetime Activities Program (LAP). Sandra has served as the Aquatic Manager of Campus Recreation for West Virginia University at the Student Recreation Center since its 2001 opening and served as the interim assistant director from 2015-16.

    Bruce has been at WVU for 29 years. Bruce received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Wheeling Jesuit University and Master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Slippery Rock University. Bruce is a part time instructor with the WVU College of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences. He works during the summer with the West Virginia Black Bears and was named Employee of the year in 2015.

  • Sera Janson Zegre

    Sera is a native of Western Colorado and an alumna of The George Washington and Oregon State Universities. Her work history in the recreation field began in high school as a lifeguard and swim instructor, and evolved into a decade of work as a river ranger, wilderness ranger, whitewater river guide, and whitewater kayak instructor. She has also worked for the Bureau of Land Management as an outdoor recreation planner in the national rivers and trails programs.
