The Student Recreation Center will close on Saturday, May 4th, and remain closed until Sunday, May 12th due to Annual Maintenance Week.
The Downtown Fitness Center will remain open and close for the summer starting Monday, May 13th.

Fitness Assessment

Take a fitness assessment with one of our certified personal trainers today!

No matter where you are in your fitness journey, a fitness assessment can help you establish a baseline, set goals and monitor your progress.

Open Fitness Assessment

Our Fitness Assessments include a 10-minute body composition assessment, free to all WVU Campus Rec members. Body composition (include total body weight, body fat percentage, BMI, basal metabolic rate, fat free mass and total body water levels) will be assessed using Tanita Bioelectrical Impedance Scale, and certified trainers will explain results.

Open Fitness Assessments will be held at the Student Recreation Center on the following dates:

  • Monday, September 18 | 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, September 26 | 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 3 | 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Monday, October 16 | 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 31 | 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 7 | 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Monday, November 27 | 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 5 | 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Gold Fitness Assessment

Best for the client that wants to establish their baseline level of fitness and evaluate continuous progress

  • Spend one hour with a nationally-accredited personal trainer
  • Use the Tanita Bioelectrical Impedance Scale
  • Learn your basic body composition information, including total body weight, body fat percentage, BMI, basal metabolic rate, fat free mass and total body water levels
  • Measure your resting heart rate and blood pressure
  • Test your cardiovascular endurance
  • Test your muscular endurance and strength
  • Test your flexibility
  • Discuss individualized health and fitness goals with your personal trainer
