The Student Recreation Center will be offering summer memberships from May 15 – August 15.

Summer membership are available for students, faculty, staff and university affiliates. The cost of the membership is $110.

WVU Boxer Claims National Title

It was a Cinderella story. After a 3-round bout, Steven Ware, a member of the West Virginia University Boxing Team, won the highest collegiate boxing title in the country.

To understand his success, it helps to know where the fighter’s journey began. After graduating high school, Ware had worked at a sawmill to support his mother. Four years later, when the mill closed, Ware decided to pursue boxing in Morgantown.

Men's Rugby: Not done yet

Rugby. A sport seldom known by the typical American. When someone mentions the game, it’s often overshadowed by football, basketball, or soccer. However, there are always those on college campuses who go against the grain. At WVU, men’s club rugby does exactly that. Even in this lesser-known game, the Mountaineers have been historically successful.

On February 25, the WVU men’s club rugby team traveled to the University of Oklahoma to compete in the Big 12 7’s Tournament. The two-time defending tournament champions breezed by Oklahoma State University, the University of Northern Texas and Kansas State University to arrive at the finals match against the University of Arkansas.
