Roll Sessions FAQ

1. What is it?

The roll session is a two hour block of time when the SRC lap pool is made available for people to bring their boats and keep their roll fresh or learn how to roll from a friend. We offer kayak roll instruction for $10 per hour.

2. When is it?

On Thursdays from January 14 to March 25 2010. 8:30 to 10:30 pm.

3. What does it cost?

Free for students and SRC members. All others $4 per session or $30 for the season.

4. Who is allowed to participate?

Anyone who wants, including students, SRC members, non-members (faculty, staff and families), and community members.

5. Are boats provided?

We do have three boats that can be borrowed.

6. Where do I bring my boat?

Boats can be brought through the control desk after 8:00p. All boats must be clean and will be checked by the roll session monitor. If boats come into the pool excessively dirty, they will not be allowed into the pool

7. How do I get in if I am not a student or member?

You must pay for the session or the semester at the front desk and obtain a card (semester) that will get you in the building for the pool sessions. You may not utilize the rest of the building. Doing so will jeopardize the privilege of participating in the roll sessions.

8. Are there any boat limits?

Because this is an informal session, it is necessary for participants to monitor their own boats in regard to crowding. If the pool gets too crowded, participants are expected to take turns. A monitor will be present at the pool at all times.

9. Is there any instruction available?

Roll instruction is available for 1 hr lessons. Cost is $10. Check with the instructor at the session to register.
