Brian Fellers
Brian Fellers has been a group exercise instructor since 1994 and is certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE), National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) and and is also Mad Dogg Athletics Spinning certified as a Star Level 2 instructor. As a DJ, he mixes his own music for classes. He loves to teach Step, Hip Hop and Cycling and his motto is “If you’re not sweating, it’s not worth doing!” Web Site: www.funkyfellers.com
Nicole Gauthier-Schatz
Nicole Gauthier-Schatz has been teaching Yoga for the last 19 years and has over 700 hours of formal training. She is certified through the Kripalu Yoga Center, Integrative Yoga Therapy for Body/Mind/Spirit as a Yoga Therapist, and recent training in Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Shiva Rea. Nicole teaches Yoga for Performers at the Creative Arts Center of WVU, and at different studios in Morgantown.

Colleen Harshbarger
Colleen Harshbarger, MS, E-RYT 500, ACSM HFI, AFAA PT, is the Interim Director of Student Wellness and also teaches yoga and spin. She has held leadership positions in the fitness industry for over 20 years, including operating her own yoga studio and managing fitness and wellness programs for Reebok, Intl. and NIOSH. She has a Master of Science degree in exercise science / biomechanics and is acknowledged by Yoga Alliance as an experienced yoga teacher at the 500 hour level (E-RYT 500). Colleen is also a Spinning Certified Spinning Instructor, an AFAA certified personal trainer. Colleen blends her knowledge of exercise, and yoga, into mindfully energetic classes that meet the needs of individual participants.
Adrian Kettering
Adrian’s yoga journey began in 1991 while attending college. During her years of practice, she has enjoyed various styles of yoga while living in many different cities such as Portland, OR, New York, NY, and Boulder, CO. Adrian is a certified Vinyasa Yoga Instructor through the Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville, North Carolina, under the direction of Stephanie Keach. She is also a certified Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and holds both Adult CPR and First Aid certifications.
Genevieve Larimer
Genevieve Larimer teaches Belly Dance. She has studied yoga and several styles of dancing for many years. She began her study of belly dance in 2003 with Narah bint Durr and performed in Narah’s Fire of the Soul tour in 2005. She has since studied with many other well known belly dancers. Nancy Naternicola
Nancy Naternicola is the Fitness and Wellness Director at the WVU School of Physical Education and the WVU Stansbury Fitness Center. She has a Master of Science degree in Physical Education Teacher Education and has been teaching aerobics and personal training for 30 years. She teaches the WVU Personal Trainer Minor and Group Fitness Minor summer courses as well as the PE 125 Aerobics classes. She holds an ACE Personal Training, ACE Group Fitness, and AEA certification and teaches over 15 types of aerobics including hip hop, step, hi/lo, cardio ball, sculpting, boot camp, and kickboxing.
Jennifer Nieusma
Jennifer Nieusma enjoys an active lifestyle with her family. Jennifer, her husband and four of her five children are involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She comes to fitness classes looking to have fun and to get a good workout. A fit body makes for a fit mind and she proclaims that she has seen this statement work in her own life! With the activity loads people have these days, a good stress relief is important. That is why she believes that fitness should be fun, and people need to enjoy their group fitness class. Jennifer has been an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor for 6+ years. She is certified by Powerhouse Pilates as well as Mad Dog Athletics Spinning Certified. First Aid Trained, CPR and AED Certified.
Carrie Nyden
Carrie is the fitness graduate assistant and teaches spin at the rec center. She has been a part of the WVU Cycling and Triathlon teams. She has her bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and is currently obtaining her masters in this field. She is a certified Johnny G Spinning Instructor and NETA group exercise instructor.
Nancy Oliverio
Nancy has been personal training and teaching group exercise classes since 2001. Classes she is qualified to teach include cardio-kickboxing, step aerobics, body sculpting, BOSU Ball, and core conditioning. She received her bachelors of science degree in Exercise Physiology from WVU in December 2005 and her Masters in Public Health with a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Health in May 2008. She is a NETA Certified Group Exercise Instructor, an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and is working on becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She is currently working as the Manager for Fitness and Wellness at the WVU Student Recreation Center as well as a group exercise instructor for a number of facilities in Morgantown. In addition, Nancy is an amateur figure competitor, placing third at the 2004 & 2007 NPC Teen, Collegiate, and Masters Nationals.
Liz Rossi
Liz Rossi, a certified Pilates instructor, has been teaching Pilates for almost five years and dance for almost 20 years. A former dancer, she now works as an actor and choreographer for West Virginia Public Theatre as well as a local dance, music, drama and Pilates instructor.
Sharon Ryan
Sharon Ryan is a Johnny G. certified Spinning instructor. She has been enjoying Spinning classes since 2001, and she has been teaching her own classes at the WVU Rec Center and at Healthworks Rehab and Fitness since 2005. Fitness and athletics have always been a part of Sharon’s life. These days, when she is not spinning, Sharon is running, walking her dogs, or cycling outside to stay in shape and to stay very happy. Sharon has an incredibly wonderful day job too. She teaches philosophy at WVU!
Heidi Sherwin
Heidi has been a student of yoga since 1994 and her style of teaching blends techniques from traditional Hatha Yoga with her explorations in Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini, and Vinyasa Flow yoga practices. In her classes, Heidi encourages safe-alignment, self-discovery, and a joyful attitude to promote a rewarding yoga experience and to help cultivate a healthy, peaceful lifestyle. She has studied under Dean Learner, Max Strom, Nicole Gauthier-Schatz, and is currently completing her 200-hour yoga teaching certification at Schoolhouse Yoga in Pittsburgh, PA.
Jennifer Sivak-Calcott
Jennifer Sivak is certified in group fitness instruction by the American Council on Exercise. She has been teaching group fitness classes for thirteen years. Her favorite classes include step aerobics and boot camp. Her passion in life is attending national aerobics conferences.
Kimberly Zaph
Kimberly A.B. Zaph, MS, CSCS, ACSM HFS, is the Wellness Program Manager for WVU in the Division of Human Resources and teaches courses for the College of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences. She has been a leader in the fitness industry for over 15 years, managing fitness and employee wellness programs, and working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She has a MS in Exercise Physiology from the WVU School of Medicine and holds numerous nationally recognized fitness certifications. She served consecutive terms as a NSCA WV State Director (2003 Director of the Year), and has worked as a Continuing Education Provider and Subject Matter Expert for the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Kimberly enjoys providing fitness/wellness services for various types of clientele, including prenatal/postpartum, post rehabilitative, physically challenged, seniors, weight management, athletes and novices.
