Group exercise classes are offered each week for free to members of the Student Recreation Center. No registration required. Check this schedule for exercise classes currently being offered.

Class Descriptions:
20/20/20 (1 hour):
Get your cardio and your strength workout done all in one class. This workout consists of 20 minutes of cycling, 20 minutes of cardio kickboxing, and 20 minutes of strength training to trim your body from head to toe.
30/30/30 (1 hour 30 min):
Get a total body workout with this class. This workout consists of 30 minutes of cycling, 30 minutes of cardio kickboxing, and 30 minutes of strength training to trim your body from head to toe
Abs Only (30 min):
This class is for all fitness levels. Focus on firming and defining the core by using a variety of equipment such as hand weights and resist-a-balls. Improve posture and core strength.
Aerobics (1 hour):
A variety of fun-filled classes that increase heart rate and burn body fat. This assortment includees step, hi/lo, kickboxing, hip-hop, cardio ball, butts & guts, 2-step, Interval Cardio, and NIKE Total Body. A different class is taught each day. Abs included with each class.
Anusara Inspired Yoga (A.I. Yoga) (1 hour):
Anusara-inspired classes incorporate yoga poses and meaningful heartfelt themes (i.e. gratitude, fun, balance). This gives students the opportunity to apply yoga in their everyday life as well as in the class. This class is open to students of all levels.
Basic Yoga (1 hour):
Relax while strengthening your body during this beginner/intermediate yoga class. Each class includes instruction in basic yoga asanas and breathing techniques. Standing, seated and balancing postures, followed by deep relaxation will help to calm your mind while developing muscular strength and improving posture and flexibility.
BOSU (1 hour):
This class is for anyone who wants to develop better posture, a stronger back, sleeker legs, and stronger joints. These work outs require you to use stabilizer muscles to maintain balance and helps build fast-twitch muscle fibers which is equal to burning extra calories and more explosive-higher jumps.
Cardio Challenge (1 hour):
Kick off the weekend with a great workout! The instructor may incorporate a variety of aerobic activities in this hour class, including kickboxing, step, BOSU and interval sets to increase the heart rate and aid weight loss. Finish off the class with an awesome abdominal workout. Something for everyone!
Disco Spin (1 hour):
Get down tonight while enjoying a great workout. This fun class includes disco balls as well as music from the disco era.
Gentle Yoga (1 hour):
A yin class designed to relieve stress and address joint and musculoskeletal injuries. A great compliment to intense workouts.
Cardio Kickbox (1 hour):
Kick up a sweat with this hour workout! Kickboxing employs boxing moves and kicks for a fast-paced, total body workout. Use upper cuts and jabs to increase your heart rate and tone your body. This class may also include a body sculpting segment.
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)(1 hour):
Train like an athlete and get lean in this class. HIIT combines the use of plyometric exercises, jump roping, drills, and sprinting.
Karate (1 hour and 30 minutes):
Traditional Karate is a system of unarmed self-defense against an unexpected attack by one or more assailants who may be armed. This is not kickboxing or sport karate. It is a system incorporating principles of the traditional Japanese warrior arts known as Budo.. How is this relevant in today’s less violent society? In the training hall, or dojo, a student will leave the day outside and work on posture, flexibility, body movement, timing and energy transfer.
Pilates (1 hour):
Pilates uses non-aerobic floor exercises to strengthen the flexors, extensors, deep stabilizers of the spine, hips and shoulders, while enhancing all physical activities. Come check it out!
Pilates Plus (1 hour):
Experience higher energy fusion style Pilates with a faster tempo and more props to challenge your core such as the Pilates rings, versa-tubing, pose-a-ball, and foam rollers; burn more calories, gain strength and flexibility all in one workout. Basic understanding of Pilates is recommended.
Plyometrics (1 hour):
Not just a guy’s class. If you are looking to gain speed, agility, strength and power, this is the class for you. Use a variety of equipment such as the agility ladder, plyo boxes, barbells, as well as your own body weight to get an intense total body workout.
Spinning (45 min-1 hour):
This class is guaranteed to leave you spinning! Ride a stationary bike to music to give you a full aerobic workout while toning the lower body muscle groups. These classes also include an abdominal toning segment. Make sure you bring a towel and water!
Spinning Plus (1 hour and 30 min):
This cardio workout is sure to lead you to your fitness goals. An hour long ride of hard hills, sprints, and jumps is what this class is made of followed by 20 minutes of core work. End the session with a relaxing 10 minutes of stretching.
Spin & Sculpt (1 hour 30min):
Get your cardio and weights done in one class! This great combination of spinning and body sculpting will leave you toned from head to toe.
Super Sculpt (1 hour):
This hour class will pump you up! This body sculpting class uses the super setting method for a balanced upper and lower body work out. Hand weights, resistance bands, body bars, resist-a-balls, and other equipment are used to sculpt the entire body.
Swing: (3 hours):
Come learn the basics of swing dance for the first hour of this class and then dance the night away.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga (1 hour):
Related to Ashtanga and Power Yoga. Vinyasa is a sequencing of poses, linked with breath, that stretch and tone the body. Classes include weight-bearing poses, picture sequencing, basic breathing techniques and relaxation.
Yoga Flow (1 hour):
This class strings together a series of poses and it coordinates these movements with breath in a dance-like fashion. Its dynamic flow increases strength, flexibility, power of concentration, and releases all stress and tension.
Zumba (1 hour):
Combines high energy music from all over the world with easy to do dance steps in an effective workout that not only burns calories, but is also tons of fun! For ALL fitness levels. Participants are invited to make up their own moves, to laugh and to have fun! Come and ZUMBA!
Zumba Pump (1 hour):
Zumba with light hand weights to add an upper body toning effect.
