FRESHMAN FIT-TEEN PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The average college freshman will gain between 5-15 pounds their first semester at WVU, with the initial 5 pounds gained the first 12 weeks of the semester. Avoid being part of the statistic and join the WVU Student Recreation Center’s Freshman Fit-een Program.

The goal of the program is to provide support, encouragement and education to incoming freshman to help them avoid gaining the “freshman fifteen” their first year of college. In addition, the program will help participants maintain or reduce their body fat, weight, and circumference measurements during their first semester at WVU.

This FREE 12 week program runs from September 14, 2009-December 4, 2009 and is based on a point system. Participants will receive points for attending required activities throughout the semester. In addition, each pound of weight, percent body fat, and circumference measurement will be worth points and will factor into the total points. Who ever has the most points at the end of the 12 weeks wins the program.

A Grand Prize will be given to the participant who has the most points.

Smaller prizes will be given to every participant who maintains their weight and body fat throughout the 12 week program (participants must meet minimum required points to qualify)
